Like many parents, I've sometimes wondered where the time has gone and how my babies are growing up, with two already being teenagers. Despite how much my teens are trying to gain independence while also telling us just how wrong and uncool we are, they still need me. I engage with my teens in their favorite activitiesOne of my teens is an athlete who thrives on the basketball court. I take my teens on individual datesHaving one-on-one time with my teens outside our home is important. I love taking my teens on dates because we're making memories together while utilizing some of the precious time we have.

Sleep is an important lifestyle factor in reducing risk for type 2 diabetes, a new study has found. In terms of risk for type 2 diabetes, there wasn’t a significant difference between those with normal sleep and those who slept six hours. And even for those who ate the healthiest, their diet didn’t offset the effects of insufficient sleep on diabetes risk. The findings are also based on participants’ recollections of their food and sleep habits, according to the study. I'm a native New Yorker who attended Oxford for my undergraduate studies in the early 2000s. Wall Street is notorious for its long hours and stressful lifestyle, particularly at the junior level, where grunt work abounds. They'd work hard and play hard, with an enviable social life like in all the Wall Street movies she'd seen. But Wall Street workers say that the nature of finance — the office politics and uniquely competitive cohort — can create a work culture that exacerbates feelings of loneliness. Some of the loneliness comes from this — it's all new, it feels bad, it's scary, and they don't feel like they can talk to anyone. But that doesn't mean people working on Wall Street can't do anything to mitigate their loneliness.

I've also helped clients over the years who have inherited money or had a trust fund they were finally getting access to. She was considering a gap semester to help. AdvertisementAdvertisementA gap semester is a semester-long period in which a student takes a break from their studies to pursue personal interests — whether that be an internship, travel, or time at home with family. In 2020, 23% of Yale students took a semester off — most likely because of the pandemic, but I've noticed the trend continue. Unlike a postgraduate gap year, if I took a gap semester, I would be guaranteed a return to the relative security of student life — rather than unemployment.
